My name is Lorna Jean, and I’m an artist based in Connemara, Galway on the beautiful west coast of Ireland.
My first exhibition, ‘Fiáin’, was on display this summer in POTA Café in Baile na hAbhann. It was inspired by my love of nature, Irish wildlife and the energy and power of the sea. All of my sea paintings started off as photographs I took while swimming at different times of the year in Connemara.
Though I like to experiment with different mediums, my preference is to work with acrylic paints on canvas. As you can imagine, I’m highly influenced by my surroundings and my heritage, and I find there is no shortage of inspiration here in Galway!
